The Lay of the Land
The New England Colonies were very much different than the Middle and Southern Colonies. They are a mountainous region with forest reaching to the waters edge and lakes a rivers carving through the countryside. The soil is very rocky and not suitable for farming like the Middle Colonies. They have a long, rocky coastline that ranges from Connecticut to northern Massachusetts. The colonies of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire made up the New England Colonies. The natural resources of the New England Colonies are wood, fish, whales, and metals.
